Welcome to Walking Rhodes

This is a unique opportunity to take a walking holiday on the fascinating island of Rhodes.  Join our team of trained, knowledgeable and experienced walking leaders that will take you along paths known only to a few of the locals. 

Contrasting landscapes, an opportunity to experience Greek culture and a wealth of history on this beautiful island bathed in sunshine for most of the year.

Walking Grades Explained

Easy:
Prepared walking paths
(This category has a very limited choice)

Moderate:
Forestry tracks, uneven ground, some hill walking

(This category has several routes)

Difficult:
Rough, uneven ground, hill walking, some parts off the beaten path.

(Most routes fall into this category)

Very Difficult:
Rough terrain, walking experienced required

(Routes such as Attavirous come into this category)

Severe:
This grade is scrambling over rocks and a small amount of rock climbing might be required. A maximum of two persons to one walking leader is taken on these routes.

(Rhodes has rocky mountains and outcrops, that produce fine areas for scrambling and rock climbing, please contact us for more information)

Equipment:  

We hire walking boots, trekking poles and rucksacks, for day walkers, if you pre-book your walking day, we will ensure that any equipment you require on that day will be reserved for you, for further information on equipment, please: contact us

We would strongly recommend that for several days walking or our package walking holiday you bring the following:

Rucksack minimum 20ltrs
Walking Boots (must be worn and tried before proper use)
Thick socks - several pairs
Long walking trousers - must be summer type.
Gaiters for walking off track, to protect lower leg from short, thorny bushes.
Walking top, build up in layers, will be cool morning and evening.
Water proof jacket and trousers with no liners
Sun hat; remember about the back of your neck.
Sun cream, always use high factor, you will be exposed to a dry hot wind.
Water carriers allowing 2ltrs or more capacity, ideal type is the bladder type for drinking on the move, or have one small bottle which you can re-fill from the larger bottles.
Insect Repellent

We will have first aid equipment at all times but if you bring your own that’s fine.

Sun glasses, there is also glare from the rocks and sun glasses are a must have, always buy a pair with UV protection.
