Please do not hesitate to contact Stephen with any questions you might have about Walking Rhodes.
How did you get involved with Walking Rhodes?:
I am one of the co-founders of Walking Rhodes, Susan and myself have been walking in Rhodes for about ten years, we crossed paths with Alwyn who had the same interest as us and it came apparent that the next step was to help others find the hidden parts of Rhodes, so was born Walking Rhodes.
What are you involved in?:
I am mainly involved in the managment side, I am a walking leader and enjoy taking people around Rhodes and sharing my discoveries over the years. I do tend to go on a bit when I am walking telling everyone about everything I know in the area we are walking in.
Name three things you always take with you walking in Rhodes?:
Plenty of water, spare base ball caps incase anybody forgets, and a small foldable saw to trim the brush and keep our paths clear.
What the most important thing you have learnt about walking in Rhodes?:
Taking the sun for granted, when walking in the mountains the cool breeze disguises how much sun you get, and by the end of the walk you could suffer from sun burn, I always wear light long sleved shirts and light long trousers both made from materials adabted for walking in the sun.
Is there anything you miss most when working in Rhodes?:
Not really, well mmm a pint of real ale!!!
Whats you favourite Greek meal?:
Greek Salad with tasiki, for starters anyway, I like a lot of diffrent types of Greek food.
What is your favourite snack?:
Propably crisps, I like savoury stuff.
What other interests do you have aside from walking?:
I enjoy being with friends and family, I do not have much personal time now a days, and my friends and family are very important to me, my time with them is very precious to me. Also like taking photographs, Alwyn gave me some jib last year for taking so many photos for this web site, swimming I also enjoy.
I know this is walking but just walking and discovering new places and making new walking routes really does it for me.
