How did you get involved with Walking Rhodes?:
My dad asked me if I would like to help with Walking Rhodes this year, I have always liked Rhodes and the idea of walking the island really appealed to me, so I said yes.
What are you involved in?:
I am assisting Richard with the walks and getting trained in the company proceeders and building up my experience of the walks to take groups out on my own, there is quite a lot to learn and remember and it will be next year before I will be able to take groups out on my own.
Name three things you always take with you walking in Rhodes?:
Plenty of water, as I never realised how much I actually drink during a difficult walk on a warm day. Sun cream as I am fair skinned I need to protect myself from the sun. It is between snacks to keep me going or my camera as I like to take pictures to show my friends.
What the most important thing you have learnt about walking in Rhodes?:
Recently we had heavy clouds and showers, the humidity was high and made walking very difficult, even when you can not see the sun it is important to keep drinking lot of water and protect your skin as the wind can burn your skin as much as the sun.
Is there anything you miss most when working in Rhodes?:
I do miss my home in Wales, my friends and my cat Rudlan.
Whats you favourite Greek meal?:
Everything, I am a vegiteraian and the Greek food is just brilliant for choice and variety.
What is your favourite snack?:
Figs
What other interests do you have aside from walking?:
Travel, Local history and architecture, Museums you get the idea.....
