Rhodes is the walker's island, being the largest of the Dodecanese Island group at about 1398 square kilometers. It offers all kinds of different walking and treking routes including mountains, forestry, areas of historical interest, places of natural beauty, wine producing areas, coastal walks etc. You are never have far to travel to get to the start of your walking route, eliminating the need for long bus journeys.

We use a variety of routes and we continuously revise and update our itineraries.  

Walking Rhodes founder members Alwyn, Susan and Stephen are seasoned hikers with vast experience gained in their native Snowdonia Mountains. The three continue to hone their skills and attend regular training courses provided by The National Mountain Centre at Plas-y-Brenin, Capel Curig, North Wales. They are also members of the British Mountain Council. 

  Susan Williams (Company Secretary) is an avid walker and an experienced guide. She has worked in the outdoor pursuit industry for many years and has been invited by several mountaineering industry manufacturers to test new products out on the mountains.  

 Alwyn Griffith (Director) of Walking Rhodes, qualified as a State Registered Nurse in 1979 and has since then pursued a career in Sales & Marketing Management working for companies such as 3M and Kodak. This has given him a wealth of knowledge and experience especially in setting up new companies and a core philosophy of “providing solutions to customer needs rather than selling a portfolio of products “. This is reflected in the practices of Walking Rhodes.                          

 Brought up in Snowdonia, he is a keen walker and a qualified 'Coastal Skipper' and understands the need for safety in order to enjoy outdoor pursuits to its maximum. Alwyn has over the years gained a great deal of knowledge about Greece and speaks the language as well as some German.
